Donatella Izzo è professore ordinario di Letteratura angloamericana presso l'Università “Orientale” di Napoli, dove ha fondato e co-dirige, insieme a Giorgio Mariani,  OASIS-Orientale American Studies International School. È Co-director del “Futures of American Studies” Institute diretto da Donald E. Pease presso il Dartmouth College (USA). È stata Presidente dell'AISNA (Associazione Italiana di Studi Nord-Americani) e della Henry James Society. I suoi principali interessi di ricerca riguardano la letteratura statunitense dell'Otto e del Novecento, la letteratura Asian American, il graphic novel, le narrazioni seriali televisive, la teoria femminista e di genere, la teoria della letteratura. Oltre ai titoli elencati più sotto, ha pubblicato su volumi editi, tra gli altri, da Blackwell, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Temple University Press, e in numerose riviste italiane ed estere, tra cui, oltre ad Ácoma, América critica, Amerikastudien, Anglistica-A.I.O.N., Between, Ex-centric Narratives: Journal of Anglophone Literature, Culture and Media of The Hellenic Association for American Studies (HELAAS), Fictions, The Henry James Review, Iperstoria, Nuova Corrente, Paragone, REAL Yearbook, RSA Journal, RSV–Rivista di Studi Vittoriani. Attualmente sta completando un volume sulla cultura politica delle detection narratives letterarie e televisive, dall'Ottocento agli USA del post-11 settembre 2001.

Donatella Izzo is professor of American Literature at Università “Orientale,” Naples. She is the co-founder and co-director (with Giorgio Mariani) of OASIS-Orientale American Studies International School, and a co-director of the “Futures of American Studies” Institute directed by Donald E. Pease at Dartmouth College (USA), as well as a former president of AISNA (che Italian Association of American Studies) and of the Henry James Society. Her research interests span nineteenth- and twentieth-century US literature, Asian American literature, the graphic novel, TV series, feminist and gender theory, and literary theory. Besides the volumes and edited volumes listed below, she has contributed to volumes published by (among others) Blackwell, Cambridge University Press, Oxford University Press, Temple University Press, as well as numerous Italian and international scholarly journals, including Ácoma, América critica, Amerikastudien, Anglistica-A.I.O.N., Between, Ex-centric Narratives: Journal of Anglophone Literature, Culture and Media of The Hellenic Association for American Studies (HELAAS), Fictions, The Henry James Review, Iperstoria, Nuova Corrente, Paragone, REAL Yearbook, RSA Journal, RSV–Rivista di Studi Vittoriani. She is currently at work on a volume about the political philosophy of detection narratives in nineteenth-century literature and in post-9/11 TV series in the USA.
